College Success
Preparing for college is more than just choosing a school — it’s building the confidence, skills, and support network that help young people thrive in and beyond the classroom. At High Rocks, we believe every student has the potential to succeed, and we’re here to make sure they have the tools to get there.
We believe that when students are equipped with strong skills and real-world knowledge, they are empowered to build the futures they envision for themselves and their communities. Our college success resources help young people explore their goals, navigate the transition from high school to higher education, and build the academic and life skills they need to persist and graduate.
Appalachian Financial Forum
The Appalachian Financial Forum hosted in September 2025 by Kareena Patel at New River Community and Technical College (with support from the Beckley-Raleigh County Chamber of Commerce and High Rocks) brought together local financial experts to help young people in West Virginia and beyond to build confidence in managing their money and planning for the future. This event discussed various elements of financial literacy — from investing and banking to insurance, loans, and credit.
