Scholarships

Burt-Steele Pathfinder Scholarship 

High Rocks Pathfinder Scholars are committed to taking the spirit and power of High Rocks out and into the world.  They have respect for themselves, for others, and for place, and uphold the traditions of loyalty, honesty, trust, acceptance and adventure.  The scholarship is named in honor of two of the founders of High Rocks, Virginia Steele and Susan Burt. 

Amount: Approximately 12 awards of $900.  

Renewable: yes, up to 5 years 

Preference: This application is open to all high school seniors and current college students.  Preference is given to young people who have participated in High Rocks activities.   Two of the awarded scholarships will give preference to students entering a trade or vocational school.  Graduate students may apply, but preference will be given to undergraduates. 

Priority application deadline: April 15.  Notice of awards: no later than May 30. Checks issued following proof of enrollment.
