Fundraising, Outreach, and Evaluation Coordinator –
High Rocks is a growing organization seeking a team member in our Development Office. Responsibilities include a range of duties, including grant writing and reporting, private donor management, community outreach, evaluation, and data collection. Strong candidates for this position will have a background in fundraising, grant writing, and community outreach and will be able to work in a team setting.
Applicants with excellent writing skills who are comfortable communicating with donors are preferred. At High Rocks, we value an unwavering commitment to excellence and honesty and a deep understanding of our programs and operations. We operate seven transformational programs for young people in West Virginia and beyond, with a budget of $3 million, which the successful candidate in this role, will help to generate.

Salary: $44,000 - $58,000, depending on education and experience. Based in Hillsboro, WV, with some potential to work in Lewisburg part of the week. This position is full-time, at-will, with eligibility for benefits including flexible workplace, health, vacation, and retirement, and professional development opportunities. Final job title will reflect the selected applicant’s level of responsibility and experience.
Responsibilities:
Grant Writing and Reporting (45%)
- Serve on the Development Team
- Provide direct support for the Development Director
- Manage the Grants Calendar
- Support for Development Director to develop funder relationships
- Grant writing
- Grant management, making sure project milestones are on track in partnership with Executive Director, Director of Programs, and program staff
- Grant reporting, including authoring narrative reports, performance measures, and outcome deliverables. Reviewing grant financial reports produced by the Business Office.
Private Donor Management (10%)
- Stewarding, cultivating, developing, and overseeing relationships with existing donors and new prospects.
- Build private donor base database, utilizing Salesforce or other software tools available.
- Regular private donor communication, including newsletters and meetings.
Community Outreach and Recruiting (20%)
- Ensure High Rocks programs are well-known in the community, the state, and the region.
- Cultivate partner relationships, including schools, non-profit partners, and employer partners.
- Support participant recruitment so programs are full at recruiting targets across the organization.
- Support customers recruitment to meet and exceed targets to build customer base at our social enterprises.
Evaluation and Data Collection (10%)
- Coordinate the High Rocks program evaluation plan.
- Serve as a liaison to our external evaluator.
- Support programs by facilitating data collection and provided synthesized program data back to programs.
- Collect and quantify data for grant management tracking purposes.
- Facilitate regular evaluation meetings.
Direct Programmatic Support (15%)
- Support for High Rocks programs, including trips, events, and camps, as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience recommended.
- Grant writing and fundraising experience
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Strong communication skills, including strong written communication
- Computer skills a must, including Excel
- Experience with Salesforce, QuickBooks, and advanced Excel functions a plus
- Some travel required
- A background check is required since we work with vulnerable populations and Workforce WV. Must be able to pass a drug screening.

Hub Cafe Coordinator - CLOSED, POSITION FILLED
Are you excited to mentor young people as baristas, budding chefs, and business partners to help build strong communities in West Virginia? High Rocks is seeking a full-time Hub Cafe Coordinator to help guide our successful youth café – a café that builds community and provides workforce development opportunities for young people. Our café operates on a triple bottom line: people, profit, and place. We aim to serve healthy, tasty, and affordable food, provide a gathering place for community events and connections, support young people by creating safe spaces and services like tutoring, and give young people an opportunity to learn and earn while building a viable program model for others around the state of West Virginia.
Salary: $42,500 – 47,000, depending on education and experience. Based in Lewisburg, WV, this position is full-time, at-will, and is eligible for benefits, including flexible workplace, health, retirement, vacation, and professional development opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Work side-by-side with the Hub team, including young people, to cook food, prepare drinks, lead community workshops, and develop strong café and café programs.
- Work with youth as business partners in café management, development, and community outreach and engagement.
- Recruit, hire, onboard, supervise, train, and release youth, AmeriCorps members, and workforce trainee baristas with Hub Manager.
- Lead front-of-house operations for the Hub Café, including:

- Maintaining excellent standards of quality for all food and customer service.
- Cross-training with the Hub Manager on kitchen management responsibilities.
- Maintaining inventories, creating shopping lists, and delegating shopping.
- Building strong customer and community relationships.
- Run Saturday training program.
- Build community engagement and pride with participants and the larger community.
- Mentor and advocate for all High Rocks students as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience recommended.
- Organized, good with detail, and strong management skills: project, time, and personnel management skills necessary.
- Food/Restaurant development and production experience.
- Interest in mentoring and strong leadership skills.
- Customer service experience.

Office Manager/Bookkeeper/Administrative Assistant - CLOSED, POSITION FILLED
High Rocks is a growing organization seeking a team member in our Business Office. Responsibilities include a range of duties, including bills and deposits, database entry, accounts receivable and payable, and financial reporting. Other responsibilities include various office management tasks including ordering supplies, filing documents, communication with donors, troubleshooting technology, and more.
Applicant must be organized and careful, with strong attention to detail and time management skills. This role will be a key member of the Business Office team and will work directly with that team as well as the other staff and participants in our programs. The strength of our Business Office team lies in an unwavering commitment to excellence and honesty, a deep understanding of our programs and operations, ongoing training and development of our entire team, and strong and innovative technology, math, and business skills.

Human Resources Specialist - CLOSED, POSITION FILLED
High Rocks is a growing organization seeking a Human Resources Specialist. The specialist's responsibilities include employee and AmeriCorps recruiting, onboarding, orientation, training, time tracking, employee benefits, and other HR responsibilities. The specialist will support compliance, workplace safety, and positive employee relations through employee support, development, evaluation, and celebration. The specialist will also coordinate our volunteers, including recruitment, orientation, training, and placement. The HR Specialist will provide key support for the Operations Manager as needed. This position will also help with our summer camps in the summer season as support staff.
The Human Resources Specialist will work with both our business and our programs to support and grow a strong and full team of paid staff, AmeriCorps members, apprentices, and paid students in both high school and college.
