Development Manager or Director

Like to write and help bring programs to life?  This job is 70% fundraising, 20% marketing, and 10% programming.

High Rocks is seeking a full-time Development Manager or Director (depending on experience level) to lead organizational fundraising and marketing, including generating revenue through grants and private donations. Responsibilities include staff supervision and project/team management.  

Strong writing, management, and interpersonal skills required.  Passion for youth leadership a must. Marketing and/or evaluation a plus. Two+ years experience in development preferred. 

Professional development and on-the-job training available. Based in Hillsboro and Lewisburg, WV.   Suggested salary range $38,000-$45,000+, depends on experience. 

Operations Manager

Like direct programming and building smart systems?  This job is half direct programming and half working behind the scenes.

This position will help support program and administrative staff to achieve excellent results in a team-oriented and supportive collaborative environment. Duties include team leadership, internal communications, day-to-day operations, training, evaluation, development, marketing, technology, and direct program support working with our participants.  

A strong skill set including organization, communication, people and business management, technology use - required; experience with development, marketing, evaluation, Quickbooks, Salesforce, youth programming - a plus.

SUMMER POSITIONS

Summer Cook

High Rocks is seeking individuals to assist our lead cook during New Beginnings Camp (June 11-June 25), and Camp Steele (July 15-July 30). Prior experience is preferred but not required. 

Camp Staff

High Rocks Academy is seeking committed, passionate teachers to teach at our academic, outdoor-based residential camps for Summer 2022. High Rocks camps are a unique opportunity for teachers to be creative in their curriculum, utilize project-based learning, and teach in our beautiful outdoor spaces. Classes to be taught are as follows:

Horse Teacher and Horses, New Beginnings Camp – June 11-June 25: Seeking teacher to lead our horse program during camp, focusing on communication with horses, ground work, breath and body work, riding, and more.  Also seeking horse volunteers (both human and equine) to help with camp.

Food Revolution, Camp Steele – July 15-July 30:  This class teaches young people how to change the way we consume and produce food. From food literacy, to big ag, to farmers markets, to harvesting and cooking fresh produce, and to looking at food businesses, campers take a deep dive into our food system.
