High Rocks Academy for Girls Program Coordinator

High Rocks, an award-winning non-profit program in Hillsboro, WV, is seeking a full-time High Rocks Academy for Girls Program Coordinator. The coordinator will work directly with 80-120 young women to educate, empower, and inspire them for a lifetime of success, service, and leadership.  Girls stay in the program for up to 7 years, and many continue their relationship with High Rocks over their lifetimes.  Duties include leading a team to organize two powerful summer camps, engage a love of learning, deliver holistic year-round support, and support our alumni in college and beyond. This year-round program includes camps, mentoring, recruiting and admissions, 4-5 reunion overnights, community service opportunities, leadership development, college access and college trips program, and scholarship awards.  The coordinator will also recruit, select, and supervise AmeriCorps members and summer staff dedicated to these programs.  Half of this job is direct programming with students; half is organizing, planning, and supervision.  The High Rocks team is dynamic and inspiring; team members work together to achieve great results, guide the direction of the organization, represent High Rocks in regional partnerships, work together to tell the story of High Rocks to the world, and build relationships with funders and other partners so that we can provide these experiences with full-funded scholarships to young women in West Virginia.

 

A passion for youth leadership and education and a strong skill set including organization, communication, time management, writing, social media, computer use, Microsoft Office - required; experience with recruiting, marketing, evaluation, management, Salesforce- a plus. Ideal candidate should have cultural context for working in West Virginia and be able to work both collaboratively and independently, work flexible hours (including evenings and weekends at times), and work well with a diverse group of people including staff, volunteers, constituents and partners.

The Program Coordinator is a full-time, year-round position.
