LEND A HELPING HAND!
LEND A HELPING HAND!
At High Rocks we count on the time and energy contributed by parents, girls, and community members to keep High Rocks running. We are always in need of volunteers willing to help with maintenance, support of the staff through office work, and (of course) working with our young people!
Some of our current volunteer needs include:
- Tutors and Mentors
- Cooks to prepare meals for programs and fundraisers
- On-call help to prepare mailings
- Construction, mowing and grounds maintenance
- Fundraising help to run drives or assist with events
“It takes a lot of work to make the High Rocks run smoothly, and without the almost constant stream of volunteers, High Rocks would not be a functional organization. I love meeting all the new and interesting people through community involvement and tutoring.” -High Rocks Participant

BRING A SERVICE GROUP
High Rocks hosts college students and other volunteer groups during the fall and spring to work as volunteers with our organization. Projects might include participating in community-based youth programs, helping to build or repair facilities, or lending a hand during tutoring.
High Rocks values the unique contribution that volunteers from across the globe have to offer our young people and our organization as a whole. Your volunteer group can give us fresh ideas and fresh energy, and they also can show our participants that taking the next step to college is attainable and fun!
We honor the time commitments these volunteers give us by providing guided supervision and academic seminars about social change and Appalachian culture. We want to make sure that everyone comes away from their service with an understanding of our work, an appreciation of the vibrancy and potential of our region, and the satisfaction of contributing something of great value to our mission of education and social change.
